He was Slater on "Saved by the Bell;" she was the Doritos girl and Miss USA 1996. They were living their semi-famous existences alone until they met in 1998. Ali Landry was a commentator at the Miss Teen USA pageant and Mario Lopez was emceeing. Lopez fell fast for the beauty, who had been named one of "People Magazine's" 50 Most Beautiful that year.
Landry was a little more cautious, taking her time and building the relationship to its peak when they became engaged in 2003. During their years together, Landry appeared in small roles on a number of television shows and hosted the short-lived "Spy-TV" reality show. Lopez kept his name on the radar hosting "The Other Half" and "Pet Star" and starring in several movies.
The two married on April 24, 2004, but their marriage was short-lived. Lopez reportedly cheated on Landry the day before their wedding and again after the wedding. The marriage was legally annulled less than a month later on May 12.
Since parting ways with Lopez, Landry starred in the film Bella in 2006. Other than that, she seems to be focusing on her personal life. She married film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde in April of 2006. She and her husband, who she reportedly met in Bible study, are expecting their first child in July (2007).
Lopez has been in the public eye a little more since their split, especially lately. Most recently, he created buzz on "Dancing with the Stars" last season. Also since hitting the singles scene again in 2004, Lopez has appeared on "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "Nip/Tuck" and has two movies in the works. Lopez also recently signed a deal with the CW network, which will result in either the creation of a starring vehicle for him or he will be cast him in a pilot for the 2007-08 season. He has kept his social life fairly low-key, although he is reportedly dating his "Dancing" partner Karina Smirnoff.
